Guided Fly Fishing & Instruction

Todd Spire has been a casting instructor and fly fishing guide in the Catskills for ten years. He has guided throughout the region, including the prestigious Beaverkill Valley Inn, and run educational programs for students at the Catskill Fly Fishing Museum.


Learn fly fishing on the famous Esopus Creek

First-timer or experienced angler? Either way, you’ll experience an incredible day of fly fishing on the pristine waters of the Catskill Mountains. Crash course for first-timers takes approximately 45 minutes of trip time depending on the number of participants. Half-day trips are available with a morning or afternoon departure.

Additional notes for first-timers: Fly fishing is done in the river not from shore. We wear waders to keep us dry and specialized non-slip boots that help minimize unwanted falls. We rent waders from our shop, but if you have an unusually large or small foot or frame size, please let us know when you inquire. Boots are available up to men’s 13.

2 Anglers - $500
Wader rental $40 per angler

3 Anglers - $600
Wader rental $40 per angler

You will also need to procure a NY State fishing license. Day licenses are $5 for residents, $10 for out-of-state. Licenses may be purchased online.

Balance due day of trip.

Deposit Policy

You may apply unused deposits toward a future trip at any time. If I need to reschedule your trip because of weather or unsafe fishing conditions, I will do my best to accommodate you as quickly as possible. Because of limited availability and unpredictable weather, we occasionally reschedule trips to the following season.

Cancellations

Cancellations made within 5 days of your scheduled date will forfeit deposit.
